The aim of the European Quality Assurance for Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET) is to connect, communicate and exchange views between the countries of the European Union, the social partners and the European Commission to support the implementation of the European Reference Quality Assurance Framework in Vocational Education and Training (VET).
The ERQAF Framework has been designed by the Member States in cooperation with the European Commission and adopted by the European Parliament and the European Council in 2009. It is a fundamental element of the follow-up to the Copenhagen Declaration which calls for closer cooperation in VET and strengthening the renewal / reorganization of European vocational education and training systems. In particular, the EQAVET Network, through the National Reference Points operating in each Member State, and the implementation of a series of actions (developing common principles, benchmarks, indicators and tools) seeks to
- Promote a culture of quality in education issues at both European and national level
- Support the Member States and the European Commission in monitoring the implementation of the Reference Framework taking into account the framework and pillars of the Education and Training 2020 Strategy
- Strengthening the quality assurance dimension in the processes developed for the implementation of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and the European Credit Transfer Accumulation and Transfer System (ECVET)
More specifically, the EQAVET Network is based on the following Quality Cycle as part of the implementation of the European Quality Assurance Reference Framework for Vocational Education and Training.
