Presentation of the outcomes to the plenary

A Peer Review meeting of the European network EQAVET was hosted by the Istituto Nazionale per l'Analisi delle Politiche Pubbliche (INAPP), which is the National Reference Point (NRP) of Italy, in Rome, from 24 to 25 October 2022. Representatives of the EQAVET network from Spain, Bulgaria, Hungary and Greece participated, with E.O.P.P.E.P., being the national reference point (law.4115/2013) of EQAVET network. Also participated, through interventions or presentations, representatives of the Italian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and of the Ministry of Education, the Veneto Region as well as representatives of the Organisations of Social Partners and VET Providers of Italy. The meeting was coordinated by representatives of the EQAVET Secretariat.

This very interesting peer review meeting focused on two main policy measures, which are of particular importance for Quality Assurance, within the neighbouring country's Vocational Education and Training system:

  1. The establishment of an effective VET governance mechanism, ensuring a balance between a homogeneous central model of organisation and planning and the Regional dimension of providing training courses that meet local needs. (Measure 1 Quality Assurance)
  2. The development of a "National Qualifications Repertoire", which will include all qualifications awarded via the IeFP system (Vocational Education and Training pathways). This national Catalogue of Qualifications will ensure national recognition of qualifications and may be enriched with additional features, corresponding to local/regional skills needs. (Measure 2 Quality Assurance)

During the two days meeting, the abovementioned two measures were thoroughly presented and the participants discussed and analyzed the specific points of these policies. The contribution of E.O.P.P.E.P. to the process was substantial, as the representative of EOPPEP, Head of the Directorate of Communication and Development and member of the Steering Committee of EQAVET, Mr. Glaros Antonios, summarized and presented to the plenary the conclusions of the discussions, highlighting: the strengths, challenges and finally the points that need further elaboration.
